Researchor does not advertise a blanket money-back guarantee, because it could not honour one honestly. What it offers is a defined process. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for the full text.
A refund is available when
- the expert did not deliver;
- the delivery was materially outside the agreed scope;
- an agreed deadline was missed without agreement;
- the Academic Integrity Policy was breached.
A refund is not available when
- you approved the milestone, since approval is the act that pays the expert;
- you changed your mind after approving;
- a supervisor, journal or institution rejected the work;
- you wanted an outcome the brief did not specify.
That last one is the common case and worth being direct about. Research is not a guaranteed-outcome service. An expert who performed the agreed analysis competently has done the work even if the result was not what you hoped for. A null finding is a finding.
How to request one
Raise a dispute on the milestone. Refunds are decided through dispute resolution, not as a separate process.
Timing
Refunds return to the original payment method. How long it takes to appear depends on your provider.
Status: this part of Researchor is built in the interface but is not yet connected to live systems. The steps below describe how it will work. We will update this article when it goes live.
