Our Mission
To make hiring research expertise as accountable as the research itself.
Every engagement here is written down before it starts, funded one milestone at a time, and screened before it changes hands. Not because researchers cannot be trusted, but because a stranger has no way to know that yet, and the structure is what makes the first project possible.
It also means holding a line. Researchor supports research; it does not produce work that someone else submits as their own. That boundary is stated in the Academic Guidelines with worked examples, so both sides know it before they agree to anything.

Finding each other
If you need research
Finding reliable research expertise is hard, because the signals that usually help do not travel outside your own network: a referral, an institution, a reputation.
If you do research
Legitimate paid work is scattered across places never built for it, and specialist skills have no marketplace that indexes them by method, population or tool.
Knowing who is real
If you need research
It is hard to tell a qualified methodologist from someone who says they are one. Credentials are easy to claim and rarely checked.
If you do research
Much of what is advertised as research work is academic cheating dressed up as consultancy, which makes honest work harder to be trusted.

Projects start without agreed scope, so they end in disagreement about what was promised.

Paying a stranger in advance for work you cannot yet see is a real risk, and most people take it because there is no alternative.

What we provide
Each of these removes one of those failures, and they only work together.
Expert discovery and matching
Briefs are compared against expert profiles on field, methodology, availability and delivery history, and every suggestion carries a reason you can check. Matching narrows the field; a human always chooses.
Project posting and proposals
A guided brief captures the research question, method, data, deliverable, deadline and budget. Experts respond with proposals stating scope, milestones, fee and revision allowance, so the offers can actually be compared.
Milestones and secure project management
Work is split into phases that each end in something assessable. One phase is funded at a time, so neither side is ever exposed for the whole project.
Escrow and payment management
The client's money leaves their account when a milestone is funded and reaches the expert when the work is approved. In between it is held, and neither party can move it unilaterally.
Messaging and file sharing
Everything about a project stays in one thread with the files attached to it, which is also the record a dispute is decided on.
Revisions, reviews and disputes
Revisions are bounded by what the proposal agreed. Where that is not enough, a dispute freezes the money and is decided on proposal against delivery.

Research integrity
Researchor supports research. It does not complete anyone's coursework, fabricate data, or sell authorship. That boundary is a product decision, not a disclaimer, and it is enforced.
Professionalism
Qualifications are evidenced, scope is written down, and deadlines mean something. Both sides are held to the same standard.
Transparency
Fees are shown before you commit. Screening results are shown to both parties. Where a mechanism is not built yet, we say so rather than describing it in the present tense.
Confidentiality
Unpublished data, participant information and pre-publication manuscripts are treated as the sensitive material they are, by both parties and by us.
Fair compensation
Experts are paid for work that was agreed and delivered, on a timetable that does not depend on a client remembering to act.
Responsible research
Ethical approval where it is required. AI disclosed where disclosure is required. Every citation verified before it is submitted.
Secure collaboration
Work, money and records stay on the platform, where there is a process when something goes wrong. We describe the security we actually have and name what is still being built.
Where we actually are
Researchor is built and being connected to live systems. The client and expert applications exist and the flows above are designed end to end. Payments, escrow, matching and dispute resolution are not yet processing live transactions.
We are saying that here rather than burying it, because a marketplace that overstates what it can do is exactly the problem it claims to solve. Our policies are published in advance so both sides can read the rules before the first transaction, and each one marks what is live and what is not.
Researchor holds no security certification and we do not display badges suggesting otherwise. What is actually in place, and what is not, is listed on Data and Security.
