We do not offer a blanket money-back guarantee, and we are not going to advertise one. What we offer is a defined process with predictable outcomes. This is that process.
Before work starts
A client may cancel a milestone that has been funded but not started. The funded amount is returned in full. Payment-provider processing fees may not be recoverable, and where that is the case it is shown at the point of cancellation.
After work starts, before delivery
Either party may request cancellation. Where both agree, the funded amount is split as agreed and the remainder returned to the client. Where they do not agree, it goes to Dispute Resolution.
An expert who cancels after starting, without an agreed reason, does not receive payment for partial work unless the client chooses to release some.
After delivery
Approval is final. Once a client approves a milestone, that milestone is not refundable, because approval is the act that pays the expert.
Before approving, a client may:
- request a revision, within the number and scope the accepted proposal set;
- raise a dispute, if the delivery does not match the agreed scope.
What a refund is for
A refund is available where the expert did not deliver, delivered something materially outside the agreed scope, missed an agreed deadline without agreement, or breached the Academic Integrity Policy.
A refund is not available because the client changed their mind after approving, because a third party such as a supervisor, journal or institution rejected the work, or because the client wanted an outcome the brief did not specify.
Research is not a guaranteed-outcome service. An expert who performs the agreed analysis competently has done the work even if the result is not what the client hoped for.
Timing
Where a refund is due, we return it to the original payment method. The time it takes to appear depends on the payment provider and the method used, and is outside our control.
Current status
Payments are not yet live, so no refund has ever been processed under this policy. It is published in advance so the rules are known before the first transaction.
